AUGUSTANA PRIDE WEEK
March 9-13 is Augustana Pride Week and the following events are available to both students and community members alike. All events held at Augustana’s forum adjacent to the coffee shop:
Darrin Hagen: History is Now
When: Monday March 9; 7-9pm
What: Darrin Hagen will share stories of his deep-dives into the research of the LGBTQ2S+ history of Edmonton, touching on details of the Pisces Bathhouse Raid, the Same-Sex Trials of 1942, the Delwin Vriend Supreme Court decision, and his own relationship with the Flashback archives. Not only do these stories shine a light on a community’s long march towards equality, but they act as a warning, showing how quickly human rights can be stripped away.
